Jibe City is a very relaxed and laid back windsurf center on the east coast of Bonaire. The beautiful shimmering, turquoise water at Lac Bay is an idyllic spot to windsurf. The warm, waist deep water, the lack of dangerous currents or obstacles, makes for a safe environment for children and adults to learn in, but at the same time provides ideal conditions for perfecting those jibes, freestyle or just flat water blasting. Experienced sailors can venture out into the blue green swell the other side of the reef. Lac Bay is approximately two miles across by about a mile from shore to reef. Cross onshore, the trade winds average 15-20 knots.
Jibe was voted the best place to learn to windsurf. But Jibe not only attracts beginners, intermediate to expert windsurfers from all over the world do find their way to Jibe. Got kids? Jibe City is a very kid-friendly windsurf center, the beach is safe, the water is shallow and warm. Custom kid’s windsurf equipment and lessons are available. If you have been dreaming of getting your kids into windsurfing, jibe city is the place.
